All the students will be in a little bit confusion about the present eligibility marks for admission in Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu. Lot of news are around the corner today about the eligibillity marks for getting a seat in engineering college, this year.

To enlighten the students, we are giving the required eligibility marks.

Open Category 50 per cent (It was 55 per cent)
Backward Classes - 45 per cent (it was 50 per cent)
Most Backward Classes - 40 per cent (it was 45 per cent)
and
Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes - 35 percent.

The All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE has now issued a circular prescribing the required minimum marks for eligibility for getting admission in engineering college as follows.

50% for general category and 45% for all others coming under the reservation ambit from 2011-12.

But, the Government of Tamil Nadu has declared that last year's criteria will apply this year also.

So students with lessers marks be happy to get a seat.
